New Construction & Final Inspection

A new-construction final inspection evaluates the accessible systems and components of a substantially completed home. Sunday helps buyers document observed installation concerns, incomplete items, and questions to discuss with the builder before handoff.

New construction final and 11-month warranty inspections use the same living-square-footage prices as a full home inspection. See pricing.

WHAT IS REVIEWED

What we review

Completed systems

Accessible electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and installed equipment are reviewed within the residential inspection scope.

Visible installation concerns

Observed conditions in accessible roof, exterior, interior, and other agreed areas are documented.

The handoff conversation

Photos and location-specific findings give you a clear basis for discussing outstanding items with your builder.

What to know about the scope

This is not a certificate of occupancy, code-compliance certification, or substitute for the builder's responsibilities and municipal inspections.

BEFORE THE VISIT

Before your inspection

  • Confirm completion, utility availability, and builder access permission.
  • Share your final walkthrough and closing dates.
  • Bring your own questions and any unresolved items from prior conversations with the builder.

ALL QUESTIONS WELCOME

New Construction & Final Inspection
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Why inspect a brand-new home?

New homes can have incomplete work or installation concerns. An independent inspection provides another opportunity to document visible conditions before handoff.

Can I schedule after closing?

Yes, but the timing and purpose differ. Share your circumstances and any warranty deadlines to choose the appropriate visit.

Can you return after the builder makes repairs?

Yes. Doug can return to reinspect agreed items after the builder has addressed them. The visit is separately priced based on the number of items and time involved, with the fee confirmed beforehand. The builder is responsible for completing repairs; the return visit checks the accessible items within the agreed scope.

Does this include a sewer scope?

No. A sewer scope uses a camera to evaluate the buried sewer line. Sunday does not currently offer this service.
